Description

A crispy, golden snack or side dish that brings Southern charm to your table. With a light cornmeal coating and the magic of the air fryer, you get all the crunch without the extra oil. Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or salad topper.


Ingredients

1 lb fresh okra pods

1/2 cup cornmeal

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 egg

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

Cooking spray or light oil


Instructions

  1. Rinse okra and pat dry. Trim stems and cut into 1/2-inch pieces if desired.
  2. In one bowl, whisk the egg. In another bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip okra in egg, then coat with the cornmeal mixture. Shake off excess.
  4. Lightly spray air fryer basket. Arrange okra in a single layer.
  5. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, shaking halfway, until golden and crisp.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
