Ingredients
Sourdough bread (2 slices)
Fresh mozzarella cheese (2-3 slices or 1/4 cup shredded)
Ripe avocado (1/2, sliced or mashed)
Tomato slices (2-3 slices)
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Butter or mayo (for spreading)
Instructions
- Prep the ingredients: Slice avocado and tomato. If desired, mash avocado with a pinch of salt. Slice mozzarella.
- Assemble the sandwich: Butter one side of each bread slice. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer mozzarella, tomato, and avocado. Season with salt and pepper. Top with second slice, buttered side facing out.
- Grill the sandwich: In a skillet over medium heat, grill sandwich for 3–4 minutes per side or until bread is golden and cheese is melted.
- Serve: Let sit for 1 minute before slicing. Enjoy immediately.
