Description

Baked Greek Lemon Chicken is a flavorful, oven-roasted dish featuring juicy chicken thighs with crispy skin, infused with lemon, garlic, rosemary, and oregano. It’s a bright, comforting meal perfect for family dinners or entertaining guests.


Ingredients

6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs

2 lemons (1 juiced, 1 sliced)

4 garlic cloves, minced

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp butter, melted

1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1 tsp dried)

1 tbsp fresh oregano, chopped (or 1 tsp dried)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1/4 cup chicken broth (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat chicken dry and season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a bowl, mix olive oil, butter, garlic, lemon juice, rosemary, and oregano.
  4. Arrange chicken skin-side up in a baking dish; tuck in lemon slices.
  5. Pour marinade over chicken; add chicken broth if desired.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until skin is crispy and chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Broil for 2–3 minutes if extra crispiness is desired.
  8. Let rest 5 minutes; spoon pan juices over before serving.
