Description
This Garlic Butter Shrimp Bowl with Creamy Herb Rice is a creamy, flavorful one-bowl meal featuring juicy sautéed shrimp, garlicky herb rice, and a rich cream sauce. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a cozy date night at home.
Ingredients
1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
¾ cup heavy cream
3 cups cooked white rice
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1 tablespoon chopped chives
1 teaspoon lemon zest
¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
3. Add the shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter and add another pinch of garlic if desired.
5. Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
6. Add parsley, chives, lemon zest, and crushed red pepper flakes. Cook for 1–2 minutes to blend flavors.
7. Stir in the cooked rice and coat it evenly with the sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
8. Return the shrimp to the skillet and combine gently, or plate the rice and top with shrimp.
9. Serve hot with a sprinkle of fresh herbs and optional lemon wedges.
Notes
Use day-old rice for better texture—it won’t clump as much in the cream sauce.
Be careful not to overcook the shrimp; they should just turn pink and curl slightly.
For extra creaminess, add a tablespoon of grated Parmesan to the sauce.
