Description

Breakfast Pigs in a Blanket combine the buttery flakiness of crescent rolls with savory breakfast sausage, finished with a light icing drizzle. This sweet-and-savory breakfast bite is perfect for weekend brunches or quick weekday treats. Easy to prep, bake, and customize.

Ingredients

8 fully cooked breakfast sausage links or mini breakfast meatballs

1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (8-count)

1 large egg (optional, for egg wash)

½ cup powdered sugar

1 to 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into 8 triangles. If using crescent dough sheets, cut into 8 triangles.

3. Place one sausage or meatball at the wide end of each triangle and roll tightly toward the point.

4. For a glossy finish, beat the egg with a splash of water and brush over the tops (optional).

5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.

6. While they cool slightly, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to make icing.

7. Drizzle icing over warm pigs in a blanket and serve immediately.

Notes

For a cheesy twist, add a thin strip of cheddar inside each crescent before rolling.

To make ahead, assemble and refrigerate unbaked rolls overnight—bake fresh in the morning.

Reheat leftovers in an air fryer or oven for the best texture; avoid microwaving if possible.
