Cajun Garlic Chicken Tortellini in Three-Cheese Cream

  • Author: Jam Scott

Description

A bold, creamy, and comforting skillet dinner, this Cajun Garlic Chicken Tortellini is packed with flavor from spiced chicken and a luxurious three-cheese garlic cream sauce. Perfect for a cozy night in or to impress guests, it’s quick, satisfying, and ultra-creamy with just the right kick.

Ingredients

2 boneless skinless chicken breasts

1 ½ tablespoons Cajun seasoning

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 tablespoons butter (divided)

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 ½ cups heavy cream

4 ounces cream cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

10 ounces cheese tortellini

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Season both sides of chicken breasts with Cajun seasoning.

2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.

3. Sear chicken until golden-brown and fully cooked, 5–6 minutes per side. Remove and rest.

4. Cook tortellini in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

5. In the same skillet, melt remaining butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.

6. Add heavy cream, then stir in cream cheese until melted.

7. Add Parmesan and mozzarella; stir until sauce is smooth.

8. Slice rested chicken into strips.

9. Fold cooked tortellini into the sauce.

10. Add chicken on top and gently mix. Add a splash of pasta water if needed.

11. Garnish with parsley and red pepper flakes. Serve hot.

Notes

Use fresh tortellini for the best texture and faster cook time.

Add pasta water gradually to loosen the sauce without thinning it too much.

For extra protein or flavor twist, try shrimp or smoked sausage instead of chicken.
