Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and no longer pink.
2. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3–4 minutes.
3. Stir in garlic, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
4. Cook for 2–3 more minutes until fully combined and thickened.
5. Remove from heat and let the beef mixture cool slightly.
6. Stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until well distributed.
7. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut each into 4 rectangles.
8. Spoon filling along the center of each rectangle and fold over. Seal edges with a fork.
9. Place rolls seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
10. Brush tops with beaten egg.
11. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden and puffy.
12. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Let the filling cool before adding cheese to prevent melting before baking.
Keep the puff pastry cold until you’re ready to use it for best puff.
For spicier rolls, add diced jalapeños or crushed red pepper to the filling.
