A deliciously easy dessert made with pantry staples, this Cherry Pineapple Dump Cake features sweet-tart cherries and tangy pineapple beneath a golden, buttery cake topping. It’s perfect served warm with ice cream or chilled straight from the fridge.
Ingredients
1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple (with juice)
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, sliced
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread the crushed pineapple with juice evenly over the bottom of the dish.
- Spoon cherry pie filling over the pineapple layer. Do not mix.
- Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the fruit.
- Arrange butter slices evenly over the cake mix.
- Sprinkle pecans on top if using.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, until the top is golden and the edges are bubbly.
- Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
