Description
This Christmas Dump Cake is a warm, gooey, and buttery holiday dessert layered with cherry pie filling, crushed pineapple, and cake mix, then topped with melted butter and festive sprinkles. It’s easy to make and perfect for potlucks, gatherings, or a cozy winter night in.
Ingredients
1 can cherry pie filling (21 oz)
1 can crushed pineapple in juice, undrained (20 oz)
1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
1 cup unsalted butter, sliced into thin pats
1/4 cup holiday sprinkles (optional)
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
2. Spread the cherry pie filling evenly in the bottom of the baking dish.
3. Spoon the crushed pineapple (with juice) on top of the cherries. Do not mix the layers.
4. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the fruit layer.
5. Place the butter slices evenly across the top of the cake mix.
6. Add sprinkles and nuts on top if using.
7. Bake for 45–50 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
8. Let cool for 10–15 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Make sure not to drain the pineapple—its juices keep the cake moist and flavorful.
For even butter distribution, slice it thinly and space it across the entire surface of the cake mix.
If using nuts, add them before baking so they toast up nicely in the oven.
