Ingredients
1 cup lump crab meat
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and grated
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for dough)
3/4 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)
1/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded (for topping)
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for topping)
Instructions
1. In a bowl, combine crab meat, cream cheese, parsley, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and set aside.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
3. Grate cold butter into the flour mixture. Use fingers or a pastry cutter to blend until coarse crumbs form.
4. Stir in shredded cheddar and parsley.
5. Pour in buttermilk and mix just until dough forms.
6. Scoop and flatten a portion of dough. Place 1 tablespoon of crab mixture in center, then wrap and seal into a ball.
7. Repeat with remaining dough and filling.
8. Arrange on parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle cheddar and parsley.
9. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 18–22 minutes or until golden and bubbling.
10. Let cool slightly and serve warm.
Notes
Use cold butter and chill dough before baking for best flaky texture.
Freshly grated cheddar melts better and blends into dough seamlessly.
