Description
A smooth and festive dessert that blends the cozy flavors of holiday eggnog with the elegance of panna cotta. This creamy, chilled treat is perfect for make-ahead entertaining and feels indulgent yet effortless. Whether served in a glass or turned out on a plate, it’s a guaranteed seasonal hit.
Ingredients
2 cups eggnog
1 cup heavy cream
2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
whipped cream (for topping, optional)
ground nutmeg or cinnamon (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Sprinkle gelatin over 1/4 cup of cold water in a small bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine eggnog and heavy cream. Heat over medium until warm, not boiling.
3. Stir in sugar and bloomed gelatin. Whisk until fully dissolved.
4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Add optional alcohol if using.
5. Pour into ramekins or serving glasses. Cool slightly, cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
6. To serve, unmold onto plates or serve directly in glasses. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon.
Notes
Be careful not to boil the eggnog mixture—gentle heat preserves flavor and texture.
To unmold easily, dip ramekins in warm water for 5–10 seconds.
Use a high-quality, full-fat eggnog for the best flavor and consistency.
