Ingredients

1 lb (450g) cheese tortellini

1 lb (450g) Italian sausage (mild or spicy)

2 cups broccoli florets, chopped

3 tbsp butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 ½ cups heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

½ tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Grated Parmesan (extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Tortellini: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the tortellini according to the package instructions. Add the broccoli florets during the last 2 minutes of cooking. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage, breaking it into crumbles as it browns. Cook for 5-7 minutes until fully cooked. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring well. Bring to a gentle simmer, then add Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Stir until smooth and thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Combine Everything: Add the cooked tortellini, broccoli, and sausage back into the skillet. Toss well to coat everything in the creamy sauce.
  5. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan. Enjoy hot!
