Description

Ingredients

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon

3 large eggs

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup brown sugar

1 cup vegetable oil

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 ½ cups chopped apples (about 23 medium apples)

½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

½ cup caramel sauce (for topping)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 10-cup Bundt pan.

2. Peel and finely chop apples; toast nuts if using.

3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

4. In another bowl, whisk eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, and vanilla until smooth.

5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing until just combined.

6. Fold in chopped apples and optional nuts.

7. Pour batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top. Tap gently to release air bubbles.

8. Bake for 60–70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

9. Cool in the pan for 15–20 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.

10. Drizzle cooled cake with warm caramel sauce before serving.

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter; fold gently once the flour disappears.
