Description
This Easy 5-Minute Smooth Hummus is the perfect quick dip made with pantry staples. Creamy, nutty, and bright with lemon, it’s ideal for snacking, sandwiches, or serving on a mezze board.
Ingredients
1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1⁄4 cup tahini
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 clove garlic
1 tablespoon olive oil
2–4 tablespoons ice-cold water
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
Optional: olive oil, paprika, chopped parsley, or za’atar for garnish
Instructions
1. Open and drain the canned chickpeas. Rinse well and peel the skins off for an extra-smooth result.
2. In a food processor or blender, combine tahini and lemon juice. Blend for 30 seconds until whipped and creamy.
3. Add chickpeas, garlic, salt, and olive oil. Blend until it begins to combine.
4. While blending, drizzle in cold water gradually until smooth and fluffy. Scrape sides as needed.
5. Taste and adjust salt, lemon, or water if needed.
6. Serve in a bowl with a spoon swoosh, drizzle with olive oil, and add garnishes if desired.
Notes
Use ice-cold water to get a light, fluffy texture—don’t skip it!
Peeling chickpeas gives you that ultra-smooth, store-bought finish.
Tahini can separate—make sure to stir it well before measuring.
