This easy dump cake gives you all the sticky, gooey flavor of a pecan pie without the hassle of crust. With just a few pantry staples and one pan, you’ll have a comforting dessert that’s perfect for holidays or any cozy night in. Sweet, nutty, and buttery from top to bottom.
Ingredients
2 cups pecans, chopped
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup light corn syrup
4 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla until smooth.
3. Stir in the chopped pecans and pour the mixture evenly into the baking dish.
4. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the pecan filling. Do not stir.
5. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, covering as much surface as possible.
6. Bake for 45–50 minutes, until the top is golden and edges are bubbling.
7. Cool for 15–20 minutes before serving to let the filling set.
Notes
Make sure the butter is evenly drizzled to prevent dry patches on top.
Don’t mix the layers—dump cakes need distinct layers to bake properly.
Let it rest after baking. The filling thickens and cuts cleaner when slightly cooled.
