Description

A cozy Southern-style skillet meal that brings together golden sautéed cabbage, smoky sausage, and tender shrimp. This quick and hearty dinner is packed with flavor, easy to prep, and ready in one pan.

Ingredients

1 small head green cabbage, chopped

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

12 oz smoked sausage, sliced into coins

1 medium onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp butter or olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook sausage until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add butter or olive oil to the skillet. Sauté onion until translucent, about 3-5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add cabbage in batches, seasoning with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook until tender and golden, about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Push cabbage to one side. Add shrimp in a single layer. Cook 2 minutes per side, until opaque.
  5. Return sausage to the skillet. Toss everything together. Heat through for 2-3 minutes. Adjust seasoning and serve.
