Ingredients
4 slices brioche or Texas toast
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons strawberry jam or preserves
2 tablespoons butter, softened
Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Fresh strawberries or lemon zest, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
2. Spread the cream cheese mixture onto two slices of bread.
3. Spoon strawberry jam over the cream cheese.
4. Top with remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
5. Butter the outsides of each sandwich.
6. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
7. Fry sandwiches until golden brown on both sides, about 2–3 minutes per side.
8. Remove, slice diagonally, and dust with powdered sugar.
9. Garnish with fresh strawberries or lemon zest if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
Soften your cream cheese fully to make spreading easier and avoid lumps.
Don’t overfill the sandwiches—leave a border to prevent leaks while frying.
Use medium heat to prevent burning the bread before the filling warms through.
