Description
This creamy, savory, slightly tangy ham salad is a nostalgic favorite made for sandwiches, crackers, or lettuce wraps. A great way to use up leftover ham, it’s fast, delicious, and always satisfying.
Ingredients
2 cups cooked ham, finely chopped
½ cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons dill pickles or sweet relish
⅓ cup celery, finely diced
2 tablespoons red onion, finely minced
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Chop cooked ham into very fine pieces or pulse in a food processor until spreadable but not mushy.
2. In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, mustard, black pepper, and red onion.
3. Fold in celery and pickles or relish to add crunch and zing.
4. Stir in chopped ham until everything is evenly coated.
5. Cover and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.
6. Serve on sandwich bread, crackers, or in lettuce cups.
Notes
For extra flavor, add chopped boiled eggs or shredded cheddar.
Use a food processor carefully—pulse, don’t puree.
Let it rest in the fridge so the flavors can meld properly.
