Ingredients
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1 tbsp sugar
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp melted butter
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper (optional)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a mixing bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add olive oil, salt, and flour gradually. Mix and knead until soft and elastic (8–10 mins).
- Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Punch down dough and divide into 12–14 pieces. Roll each into a rope and shape into hearts.
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and rise again for 15–20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix melted butter and garlic powder. Brush over hearts.
- Sprinkle with Italian seasoning, crushed red pepper, and Parmesan.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
