Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (parsley, chives, or dill)
1 cup milk
2 large eggs
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Stir in cheese and herbs until coated.
- In another bowl, whisk milk, eggs, and melted butter.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry; stir gently until just combined.
- Transfer batter to pan; smooth the top.
- Bake 45–55 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool 10 minutes in pan; remove to wire rack to cool fully.
