Description

Caramelized sausage and tender sweet potatoes meet in this easy skillet dinner, glazed in a rich honey garlic sauce. Sweet, savory, and done in under 30 minutes, it’s the comfort meal your weeknight needs.


Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil or butter

14 ounces smoked sausage, sliced into thick coins

2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed

3 tablespoons honey

3 garlic cloves, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)


Instructions

1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil or butter. Add the sausage slices and brown on both sides for 3–4 minutes. Remove and set aside.

2. In the same skillet, add remaining oil if needed and the cubed sweet potatoes. Cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally until softened and lightly golden. Cover to speed up softening.

3. Lower the heat slightly. Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Pour in the honey and soy sauce. Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.

4. Return sausage to the skillet. Toss to coat everything in the glaze. Let cook 2–3 more minutes to caramelize.

5. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Cut sweet potatoes into small uniform cubes so they cook evenly.

Don’t skip browning the sausage—it builds flavor and texture.

If using spicy sausage, reduce soy sauce slightly to balance saltiness.
