Description

This Hot Honey Chicken Mac N Cheese combines crispy fried chicken tenders coated in sticky, sweet-and-spicy hot honey sauce with a bed of ultra-creamy cheddar macaroni. It’s a bold and comforting main dish that’s perfect for cozy dinners or weekend indulgence.


Ingredients

2 cups elbow macaroni

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 cup whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Salt and black pepper to taste

46 seasoned fried chicken tenders (homemade or store-bought)

1/3 cup honey

1 1/2 tablespoons hot sauce

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Chopped fresh parsley (optional)


Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook elbow macaroni until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook 1-2 minutes.
  3. Slowly whisk in milk and cream. Simmer 5-6 minutes until thickened.
  4. Stir in shredded cheddar until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Add macaroni back into the cheese sauce and stir to coat.
  6. In a small saucepan, heat honey, hot sauce, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne until warm.
  7. Cook or reheat chicken tenders until crispy. Slice if desired.
  8. Plate the mac and cheese, top with chicken, and drizzle with hot honey sauce.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley if using.
