Irresistible Super Moist Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Description

A lusciously moist banana bread loaded with melty chocolate chips, perfect for breakfast, dessert, or any time in between. This recipe uses ripe bananas, yogurt or sour cream, and a buttery base to deliver an indulgent, cake-like crumb with every slice.


Ingredients

3 to 4 ripe bananas, mashed

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup yogurt or sour cream

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

3/4 to 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth with some small lumps.
  3. Add melted butter, sugars, eggs, vanilla, and yogurt/sour cream. Whisk to combine.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips, saving a few to sprinkle on top.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan. Smooth the top and add reserved chips.
  8. Bake 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool fully before slicing.
