Description

Marry Me Melting Cabbage is roasted to golden perfection in a buttery garlic broth, developing crisp caramelized edges and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. This comforting yet elegant side dish is finished with a hint of spice and fresh herbs for a flavorful upgrade to humble cabbage.

Ingredients

1 medium green cabbage, cut into 68 wedges

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 tablespoons butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or chives

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Slice cabbage into thick wedges, keeping the core intact to hold them together.

3. Arrange cabbage wedges on a baking dish or sheet pan.

4. Drizzle with olive oil, season both sides with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

5. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and stir for 1 minute.

6. Add broth and honey or maple syrup (if using). Stir to combine.

7. Pour the garlic-butter broth over the cabbage evenly.

8. Cover the dish with foil and roast for 40 minutes.

9. Remove foil and continue roasting for 20–25 more minutes, basting occasionally, until cabbage is tender and edges are golden.

10. Garnish with chopped parsley or chives before serving. Serve hot with some of the pan juices spooned over the top.

Notes

Keep the core of the cabbage wedges intact—this helps them hold their shape while roasting.

If using maple syrup, opt for pure maple for a rich, deep sweetness.

For extra crispiness, broil the cabbage for 2–3 minutes at the end of roasting.
