This One Pot Creamy Garlic Pasta is the ultimate comfort food made in under 30 minutes. With just one pot and pantry ingredients, you’ll have a silky, garlic-infused cream sauce coating tender penne pasta. Perfect for busy weeknights, this recipe is rich, satisfying, and always a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
12 oz penne pasta
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons butter
2 cups vegetable or chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
2. Pour in the broth and bring it to a simmer. Add the uncooked penne pasta and stir. Cook uncovered for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Once the pasta is al dente and most of the broth is absorbed, reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream.
4. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, then stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
5. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
6. Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan before serving.
Notes
Stir pasta frequently while simmering to avoid sticking and ensure even cooking.
For a lighter version, substitute half and half for the heavy cream.
Add cooked chicken or shrimp at the end for a protein-packed twist.
