Description

This creamy, one-pan shrimp and orzo pasta is packed with garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, Parmesan, and herbs for a cozy yet elegant dinner. It’s quick enough for weeknights and special enough for guests.

Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 cup orzo pasta

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/3 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp chili flakes (adjust to taste)

2 tbsp olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Sear the Shrimp: Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and chili flakes. Sear in olive oil over medium-high heat for 1–2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  2. Sauté Garlic and Tomatoes: In the same pan, reduce heat and sauté garlic for 30 seconds. Add sun-dried tomatoes and cook another minute.
  3. Toast Orzo: Stir in orzo and toast in the pan for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Simmer: Add chicken broth and heavy cream. Simmer on low for 10–12 minutes until orzo is tender.
  5. Combine: Return shrimp to the pan, add Parmesan, and stir everything together.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Top with fresh herbs and serve hot.
