Description

This One Pot Spicy Garlic Butter Chicken Tortellini is a creamy, bold, and comforting dinner made in just one skillet. With tender chicken, cheese-filled tortellini, spinach, and a spicy garlic butter cream sauce, it’s a flavor-packed weeknight favorite.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 large chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and black pepper, to taste

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

9 ounces refrigerated cheese tortellini

2 cups baby spinach

Optional: extra Parmesan and red pepper flakes for serving

Instructions

1. Season chicken breast pieces with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken until fully cooked and golden, about 6–8 minutes. Remove and set aside.

3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes; sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

4. Pour in heavy cream and stir in Parmesan. Let the sauce simmer and thicken for 2–3 minutes.

5. Add tortellini directly into the sauce. Simmer uncovered for 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6. Stir in baby spinach and cook until wilted. Return the chicken to the skillet and toss everything together.

7. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot with more Parmesan or red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

Do not overcook the tortellini in the sauce or it may break apart.

Use fresh spinach for best texture, but thawed frozen spinach also works.

Add a splash of milk or cream when reheating leftovers to keep the sauce smooth.
