Ingredients
1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup (200g) packed brown sugar
1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups (340g) semisweet chocolate chips
Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
Instructions
- Cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture; mix until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and optional nuts.
- Chill dough for at least 30 minutes (optional but recommended).
