Description

This Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwich takes the best of both comfort food worlds and fuses them into one melty, crispy bite. With layers of mozzarella, tangy marinara, and a golden, buttery crust, it’s perfect for a quick and satisfying meal. Customize it with pepperoni or veggies and enjoy the ultimate cheesy indulgence.


Ingredients

4 slices sturdy bread (sourdough or Texas toast recommended)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup marinara sauce

8 slices pepperoni (optional)

2 tablespoons butter, softened

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or chopped fresh basil


Instructions

  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  2. On the non-buttered side, spread a spoonful of marinara sauce.
  3. Add a layer of mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices if using.
  4. Sprinkle Italian seasoning or fresh basil on top.
  5. Close the sandwich with the buttered sides facing out.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the sandwich for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from heat, slice, and serve hot.
