Description

This easy pizza toast brings together the best of crispy toasted bread and gooey, cheesy pizza toppings. Perfect for lunch, snack time, or a fuss-free dinner, it’s loaded with fresh tomatoes, melty mozzarella, and a hint of Italian herbs—ready in under 15 minutes!


Ingredients

2 slices thick-cut bread

1 medium fresh tomato, sliced

½ cup mozzarella cheese, shredded or sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

Pinch of salt

Pinch of black pepper

Fresh basil, sliced for garnish


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Brush each slice of bread with olive oil and place on the baking sheet.

3. Sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning over the bread.

4. Lay tomato slices on top and season with salt and pepper.

5. Add mozzarella over the tomatoes.

6. Bake for 8–10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and bread is golden. Broil for 1–2 extra minutes if desired.

7. Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm.

Notes

Use sturdy bread like sourdough or Texas toast to prevent sogginess.

For a crispier finish, don’t skip brushing the bread with olive oil.
