Ingredients

10 cups air-popped popcorn

1 1/2 cups pecan halves

1 cup light brown sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)

1/4 cup light corn syrup

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Spread popcorn and pecans evenly on the baking sheet.
  3. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup over medium heat. Stir until melted.
  4. Allow to boil gently for 4 minutes without stirring.
  5. Remove from heat; stir in baking soda, salt, and vanilla extract.
  6. Quickly pour the foamy mixture over popcorn and pecans; toss gently to coat.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven, cool completely, and break into pieces.
