Ingredients
0.5 pound breakfast sausage
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 ball pizza dough or 1 prebaked pizza crust (12-inch)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon butter (optional, for brushing crust)
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
Instructions
1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks.
2. Sprinkle flour over the sausage and stir to coat. Slowly pour in the milk while stirring. Cook until the mixture thickens into gravy. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out your pizza dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone. Prebake the crust for 5–7 minutes until slightly golden.
4. Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the prebaked crust. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top. Add extra sausage if desired.
5. Bake for another 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Optionally brush crust with butter. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
