Description

A buttery, flaky pastry filled with warm, cinnamon-spiced apples and topped with a hint of powdered sugar. These Simple Apple Puff Pastries are perfect for a quick dessert or cozy brunch treat.

Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

2 firm apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

1 egg, for egg wash

powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Peel and thinly slice apples. Set aside.

3. Cut puff pastry into squares and lightly score a 1/4 inch border.

4. Layer apple slices in the center of each square.

5. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over apples.

6. Dot apples with small pieces of butter.

7. Beat egg and brush edges of pastry with egg wash.

8. Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden and puffed.

9. Let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Thaw the puff pastry properly to avoid cracks when unfolding.

Don’t overload apples—thin slices bake more evenly.

Reheat leftovers in the oven to keep the pastry crispy.
