Description

Ingredients

1 lb flank or skirt steak

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup uncooked white rice

1 tablespoon butter

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1 cup milk

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar and/or pepper jack cheese

Pinch of chili powder (optional)

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Optional: Diced tomatoes and avocado for topping


Instructions

  1. Season steak with salt and pepper. Sear in a hot skillet for 3-4 minutes per side. Let rest 5-10 minutes, then slice against the grain.
  2. Cook white rice according to package instructions. Fluff with a fork.
