Description

Sticky Beef Noodles are a quick and flavorful stir-fry dish made with tender slices of beef, crisp vegetables, and chewy noodles, all tossed in a sweet, sticky soy-hoisin glaze. It’s a 30-minute meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights and delivers serious takeout-style flavor at home.

Ingredients

1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon soy sauce (for marinating beef)

1 teaspoon cornstarch (for marinating beef)

1 teaspoon sesame oil (for marinating beef)

1 tablespoon oil (for stir-frying)

1 red bell pepper, sliced

2 cups broccoli florets

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup soy sauce (for sauce)

2 tablespoons hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1/2 tablespoon cornstarch (for sauce)

8 oz cooked egg noodles or yakisoba noodles

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Slice beef thinly against the grain. In a bowl, mix with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 teaspoon cornstarch, and 1 teaspoon sesame oil. Let marinate while you prep the vegetables and sauce.

2. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon grated ginger, and 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch until smooth.

3. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add beef in a single layer and sear for 2–3 minutes until just cooked. Remove from pan and set aside.

4. In the same skillet, add a little more oil. Stir-fry the bell peppers and broccoli for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

5. Return beef to the skillet. Pour in the sauce and cook for 1–2 minutes until thick and glossy. Add cooked noodles and toss everything to coat well.

6. Serve hot, topped with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Make sure your skillet is hot enough to quickly sear the beef—it keeps it tender and juicy.

For extra sauciness, double the sauce ingredients and save some for drizzling after serving.

Fresh ginger and garlic make a big flavor difference—don’t skip them if possible.
