Description

Sticky Garlic Chicken Noodles are a fast, savory, and satisfying noodle dish made with tender chicken, a glossy garlic-soy glaze, and chewy stir-fry noodles. This easy weeknight recipe comes together in one pan and delivers rich umami flavor with minimal effort—perfect for when you’re craving takeout without leaving home.

Ingredients

1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts

2 tbsp soy sauce (divided)

2 tsp cornstarch (divided)

1 tbsp neutral oil (for cooking)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

1 tbsp oyster sauce

2 tbsp brown sugar

2 tbsp water

10 oz stir-fry noodles (egg noodles, yakisoba, or similar)

1 tsp sesame oil

2 stalks green onions, chopped

1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

1. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and toss with 1 tsp soy sauce and 1 tsp cornstarch.

2. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear without moving for 2–3 minutes. Flip and cook until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

3. In the same pan, reduce heat to medium. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

4. Add remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and 2 tbsp water. Stir to combine.

5. Mix remaining 1 tsp cornstarch with 1 tbsp water and add to the pan. Stir until sauce thickens and becomes glossy.

6. Cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse under warm water.

7. Add chicken and noodles to the sauce. Toss to coat evenly.

8. Turn off heat and stir in sesame oil.

9. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken for 15–30 minutes before cooking.

You can easily swap chicken with tofu or mushrooms for a vegetarian version.

Don’t skip the sesame oil at the end—it gives the dish its signature finish.
