Description
This homemade Stromboli is a golden, crispy roll filled with savory deli meats and gooey cheese, all baked into a chewy pizza dough crust. Served with warm marinara for dipping, it’s a satisfying appetizer, snack, or dinner option. Perfect for feeding a crowd or making ahead and freezing!
Ingredients
1 pound pizza dough
8 slices provolone cheese
20 slices pepperoni
10 slices salami or ham
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 egg, whisked
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
1 cup marinara sauce, warmed for dipping
Instructions
1. Roll out the pizza dough into a 10×14 inch rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Let rest 10 minutes if tight.
2. Layer the fillings: start with provolone slices, then salami, pepperoni, and finally mozzarella. Leave a 1-inch border around the edges.
3. Roll the dough tightly from the long edge into a log. Pinch the seam and the ends to seal. Place seam side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
4. Brush the top with whisked egg. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and Parmesan if desired. Cut 3–4 slits on top to vent steam.
5. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
6. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with marinara sauce on the side.
Notes
Let the dough come to room temperature before rolling for easier shaping and less tearing.
Don’t overfill—keep a 1-inch border around all edges to prevent bursting.
If freezing, bake first and let cool completely before wrapping tightly.
