Description
These Sweet and Sticky Steak Bites are pan-seared, juicy steak cubes glazed in a sweet soy-garlic sauce. Ready in minutes, they’re perfect for busy weeknights, party appetizers, or a protein-packed meal over rice or noodles.
Ingredients
1 pound sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon neutral oil, plus more as needed
3 cloves garlic, minced
1⁄3 cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
1. Cut steak into 1-inch cubes and pat dry. Toss with cornstarch to coat lightly.
2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak in a single layer for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Work in batches if needed. Remove and set aside.
3. Lower heat to medium. Add more oil if needed. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
4. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar. Stir and simmer 2–3 minutes until thickened slightly.
5. Return steak to skillet. Toss in sauce for another 2–3 minutes until glazed and coated.
6. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot.
Notes
Don’t overcrowd the pan—steak needs space to brown, not steam.
If your sauce thickens too much, add a splash of water while reheating.
Use fresh garlic for maximum flavor—jarred won’t deliver the same punch.
