Description
Perfectly cooked hard boiled eggs with tender whites and creamy yolks. Great for snacks, salads, or weekly meal prep. Easy, reliable, and ready in just minutes with a quick chill in an ice bath.
Ingredients
6 large eggs
Water to cover eggs by 1 inch
2 cups ice
Instructions
1. Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan.
2. Cover with cold water until eggs are submerged by at least 1 inch.
3. Bring water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
4. Once boiling, immediately turn off the heat and cover the pot.
5. Let eggs sit in the hot water for 10 to 12 minutes, depending on desired yolk texture.
6. Transfer eggs to an ice bath and let sit for at least 5 minutes.
7. Gently crack and peel eggs under running water. Enjoy or store in the fridge.
Notes
For easier peeling, use eggs that are 5–7 days old.
Immediately chilling the eggs stops the cooking and prevents overcooked green yolks.
Gently rolling the egg before peeling helps separate the shell cleanly.
