Ingredients
3 to 4 ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, etc.)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash bananas. Mix in melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Fold dry ingredients into banana mixture until just combined.
- Stir in chopped nuts, reserving some for topping if desired.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Smooth the top and sprinkle with reserved nuts.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
