Description

Creamy, spiced, and full of coconut flavor, this Coquito is the kind of easy recipe that instantly makes any holiday table feel more festive. This quick holiday drink is a smooth Puerto Rican classic made with coconut milk, cream of coconut, sweetened condensed milk, warm cinnamon, and rum for one of the best dessert drink ideas, Christmas drink ideas, and easy party recipe favorites to make ahead.

Ingredients

1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 ounces)

1 can evaporated milk (12 ounces)

1 can cream of coconut (15 ounces)

1 can coconut milk (13.5 ounces)

1 cup white rum

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/8 teaspoon salt

1 cinnamon stick for garnish, optional

1 pinch extra ground cinnamon for topping, optional

Instructions

1. Add the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, cream of coconut, coconut milk, white rum, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt to a blender.

2. Blend until completely smooth and creamy, about 30 to 45 seconds.

3. Taste and adjust the spice or rum if desired.

4. Pour the mixture into a glass bottle, jar, or pitcher.

5. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for the best flavor.

6. Shake or stir well before serving.

7. Pour into small glasses and garnish with a cinnamon stick or a light sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.

Notes

Shake the coconut milk and cream of coconut well before opening so the texture stays smooth.

Chill overnight when possible because the flavor gets even better after resting.

Store in the refrigerator and shake before each serving since natural separation is normal.
