Ingredients
2 pounds carrots, peeled and sliced
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
1. Peel and slice the carrots into even sticks or rounds.
2. Add the carrots, butter, brown sugar, honey, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and water to a large skillet or saucepan.
3. Cook over medium heat and stir until the butter melts and the carrots are coated.
4. Cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring once or twice, until the carrots begin to soften.
5. Remove the lid and continue cooking for 4 to 6 minutes, stirring often, until the glaze thickens and the carrots are tender.
6. Remove from the heat, sprinkle with parsley, and serve warm.
Notes
Fresh whole carrots give the best texture, but baby carrots can be used for convenience.
If the glaze gets too thick, stir in a teaspoon or two of water before serving.
For extra flavor, finish with a little fresh thyme or a small drizzle of honey.
