Description

This Easy Ground Beef Bulgogi is a weeknight hero—ready in under 30 minutes with sweet, savory Korean BBQ flavors. Lean ground beef is caramelized in soy sauce, garlic, brown sugar, and sesame oil, then served over fluffy white rice and optionally topped with a soft-boiled egg. It’s cozy, fast, and bursting with flavor!


Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger (optional)

2 teaspoons sesame oil

2 green onions, chopped

1 teaspoon sesame seeds

2 cups cooked white rice

2 soft-boiled eggs (optional)


Instructions

1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until browned and no longer pink, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess grease.

2. Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

3. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Pour sauce into the skillet with the beef and stir to coat evenly.

4. Let it simmer for 3–4 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.

5. Stir in chopped green onions, remove from heat.

6. Serve beef over hot rice. Top with soft-boiled egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Notes

Use lean ground beef (85/15 or 90/10) to avoid excess grease and keep the sauce flavorful.

Don’t skip the brown sugar—it helps the beef caramelize and gives that signature sweet bulgogi taste.
