Ingredients
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup warm water
1 ½ teaspoons instant yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves minced garlic
1 cup shredded mozzarella
½ cup shredded cheddar or provolone
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix and knead until the dough is smooth (6–8 minutes by hand or 4 minutes with a mixer).
3. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for 45 minutes or until doubled.
4. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll dough into a rectangle about ½ inch thick. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
5. Brush the top with olive oil, then evenly spread minced garlic.
6. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar or provolone cheese over the top. Add Italian seasoning or parsley if using.
7. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden.
8. Cool for 5 minutes, slice into sticks, and serve with dipping sauce.
Notes
Make sure your water is warm—not hot—or it may kill the yeast.
Don’t skip letting the dough rise fully. It gives that fluffy, soft texture.
A mix of mozzarella and sharp cheese (like provolone or cheddar) gives the best cheesy flavor balance.
