Description

This Homemade Hibachi Yum Yum Sauce is creamy, tangy, slightly sweet, and packed with that classic restaurant-style flavor everyone loves. It is an easy recipe that comes together in minutes and works as a quick dipping sauce, burger spread, seafood drizzle, and one of those versatile food ideas that upgrades easy dinner plates, quick lunch bowls, and party snacks.

Ingredients

1 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon melted butter

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

2 tablespoons water

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 pinch cayenne pepper optional

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, add the mayonnaise, ketchup, melted butter, rice vinegar, sugar, garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using.

2. Whisk everything together until the sauce is smooth and evenly colored.

3. Add the water a little at a time and whisk until the sauce reaches your preferred consistency.

4. Taste and adjust the flavor with a little more sugar, vinegar, or paprika if needed.

5. Transfer the sauce to a jar or airtight container.

6. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving for the best flavor.

7. Serve cold with hibachi chicken, shrimp, steak, fried rice, vegetables, fries, or sandwiches.

Notes

Full-fat mayonnaise gives the richest and most authentic texture.

Letting the sauce chill before serving makes the flavor smoother and better balanced.

Add extra water 1 teaspoon at a time if you want a thinner drizzle for rice bowls or grilled meats.
