Description

A mouthwatering twist on the beloved Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits, this cheese biscuit loaf is fluffy, buttery, and loaded with cheddar and garlic flavor. Topped with a rich garlic butter glaze and parsley, it’s the perfect pull-apart bread for sharing. Great as an appetizer, side dish, or comforting snack.


Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

3/4 cup buttermilk

1 large egg

Topping:

2 tablespoons melted butter

1/2 teaspoon dried parsley or 1 tablespoon fresh parsley

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Fold in shredded cheddar cheese evenly.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk and egg. Add to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Spread the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Mix the melted butter with garlic powder and parsley. Brush over the hot loaf.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
