Ingredients
2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
12 ounces garlic Parmesan sauce
8 ounces cream cheese softened
1 cup chicken broth
4 cloves garlic minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
12 ounces rotini pasta
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1/3 cup toasted breadcrumbs optional
Instructions
1. Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
2. Pour the garlic Parmesan sauce and chicken broth over the chicken.
3. Add the softened cream cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and butter.
4. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or on high for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
5. Remove the chicken and shred it with two forks.
6. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir the sauce until smooth.
7. Cook the rotini in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain.
8. Stir the grated Parmesan cheese into the slow cooker sauce.
9. Add the cooked pasta and toss until fully coated.
10. Serve hot with chopped parsley and toasted breadcrumbs on top if desired.
Notes
Cook the pasta separately and add it at the end so it stays perfectly tender.
