Ingredients

For the Beef Stir-Fry
  • 1 lbs beef sirloin sliced into strips
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt to taste
For the Fries
  • 4 large potatoes cut into fries
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
For the Fresh Salad
  • Green leaf lettuce
  • Cucumber slices
  • Cherry tomatoes halved
  • Tomato wedges

Method

Instructions
  1. Slice beef against the grain and pat dry with paper towels. Cut potatoes into even-sized fries. Mince garlic and slice peppers.
  2. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add fries in batches and fry for 8 to 10 minutes until golden and crispy. Transfer to paper towels and season with salt while hot.
  3. Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a separate pan over high heat. Working in batches, sear beef strips for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until browned. Season with salt and black pepper. Set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add sliced peppers and stir-fry for 4 to 5 minutes. Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and paprika, stirring to combine.
  5. Return cooked beef to the pan with peppers and sauce. Toss together for 1 to 2 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  6. Arrange green leaf lettuce on a plate. Top with cucumber slices, cherry tomato halves, and tomato wedges. Serve alongside the beef stir-fry and fries.

Notes

Pat beef dry before searing for better browning. Cut potatoes into even-sized pieces so they cook uniformly. The beef is best served immediately while hot. Fries are best enjoyed fresh but can be briefly reheated in a hot oven if needed.
