Ingredients

For the Orange Garlic Chicken
  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 0.5 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • Fresh parsley chopped

Method

Instructions
  1. Pat the drumsticks dry and coat evenly with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat, then add the drumsticks and sear for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  2. Whisk together fresh orange juice, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and orange zest in a bowl until well combined.
  3. Pour the orange garlic glaze over the seared drumsticks in the skillet. Transfer to a preheated 400°F oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, basting every 8 to 10 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the glaze is thick and syrupy.
  4. Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes. Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley over the drumsticks and transfer to a serving platter with any remaining glaze from the skillet.

Notes

Use freshly squeezed orange juice for the brightest flavor. Basting the drumsticks frequently ensures they stay moist and develop a beautiful caramelized coating. Pat the drumsticks dry before searing for better browning. Leftover drumsticks taste even better the next day as the flavors continue to develop.
